The Cleveland Browns missed out on the playoffs a season ago, finishing 8-9. In the offseason they moved on from QB Baker Mayfield and traded for star QB Deshaun Watson, who received a 6-game suspension – announced Monday, Aug. 1 – for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. (The league has 3 days to appeal the decision).
Below, we look at the Cleveland Browns’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.
The Browns have never won the AFC North since the league went to 4 division in 2002. Their last division title came in 1989 when they were in the AFC Central. They’ve only been to the playoffs once in the last 19 years – 2 seasons ago as a wild card after an 11-5 campaign.

Cleveland Browns’ 2022 win total: Best bet
Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, Aug. 1 at 1:32 p.m. ET.
Over/Under: Off the board
Due to the Watson situation, this line is currently off the board (unavailable). For whatever amount of time he is suspended, look for QB Jacoby Brissett to handle snaps.
Brissett, the New England Patriots’ 3rd-round pick in 2016 is 14-23 as a starter. He went 1-1 with the Pats in 2016, 11-19 with the Indianapolis Colts between 2017-’20 and 2-3 with the Miami Dolphins last season. He has 36 passing touchdowns, 17 interceptions and 13 rushing TDs in his 60-game career.
Cleveland Browns’ 2022 Super Bowl odds
Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
Cleveland is tied with the 9th shortest odds to win it all. The Buffalo Bills (+600) are the favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).
At +2000, Cleveland has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 4.76% or 20/1 fractional odds.
The Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons have the longest odds at +20000 each.
BACKING THE BROWNS (+2000) to win the Super Bowl for a 20-to-1 payoff is worth a small wager.
Cleveland Browns’ 2022 playoff odds
Will Browns make the playoffs: Off the board
- Prior to the Aug. 1 Watson decision: Yes +135 | No -170
There is too much talent in the AFC to go sub-.500 for the first half of the season and still have a chance.
However, the Browns have an incredibly easier schedule. Sharp Football has them 8th in the NFL. They could easily win their first 4 games even with Brissett leading the way.
Considering that, the Browns to make the playoffs at +135 seems like good value, but that’s not quite enough of a payout for me to love it. I’d certainly shy away from them to miss the postseason at -170.
Odds to win AFC North Division
- Baltimore Ravens +162 (bet $100 to win $162)
- Cincinnati Bengals +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
- Cleveland Browns +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
- Pittsburgh Steelers +900 (bet $100 to win $900)
PASS. Cleveland’s implied probability of winning the AFC North is 29.41% or 12/6 fractional odds. The Bengals and Ravens are the only threats here, but there’s no fun in betting favorites in division futures, especially at these values.
Browns’ AFC North finishing position
First +260 | Second +230 | THIRD +200 | Fourth +450
The NFL’s possible appeal on Watson’s 6-game suspension is a huge factor, but betting the BROWNS TO FINISH 3RD (+200) in the AFC North has value now. Whatever the final decision, the Browns should still be worse than the Ravens and Bengals during the regular season.
There should be hope that even a Browns team with Brissett leading the way at QB is still better than Pittsburgh.
Cleveland has a strong line, a few game-changing defenders and a dominant running game. The Browns should be able to withstand some near-term issues. However, teams like Cincinnati and Baltimore will be too hot out of the gate.
At +200, a 3RD-PLACE FINISH for Cleveland is a good future bet.
Odds to win AFC
Odds: +1200 (bet $100 to win $1200)
PASS.
Betting on them to win the Super Bowl at +2000 and also to be worse than the Bengals and Ravens both seem smart as Watson’s final suspension decision should have little factor on those.
AVOID betting Cleveland in this position and look for better value in an easier conference like the AFC South.
