The Ohio State women’s ice hockey team was revealed as the overall No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament, a first for the program. Eleven teams made the field, with only the top five selections receiving a seed.
The other four teams that were seeded include Minnesota (2), Northeastern (3), Colgate (4), and Yale (5). The six other programs that made the field are Syracuse, Clarkson, Harvard, Quinnipiac, Minnesota-Duluth, and Wisconsin.
Ohio State will host and play the winner of the regional semifinal on Thursday in the Ohio State Ice Rink between Quinnipiac and Syracuse. The 2022 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four will be hosted by Penn State University at Pegula Ice Arena in State College, Pennsylvania, with semifinal games to be broadcast live, Friday, March 18. The national championship game will take place at 4 p.m. Eastern time, Sunday, March 20 on ESPNU.
