Watch every Justin Fields play from Bears’ preseason win vs. Titans

Re-live every Justin Fields play from the Bears’ 27-24 win over the Titans.

The Chicago Bears wrapped the preseason with a 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans, which marked rookie quarterback Justin Fields’ first NFL start.

Granted, Fields didn’t get any reps with the first-team skill players, but he did get to work behind Chicago’s starting offensive line — although the line had its concerns.

While Fields didn’t get a chance to really air it out, the highlight of the game was when Fields led the Bears on a scoring drive during a two-minute drill, which was capped off by a beautiful back shoulder throw from Fields, who put the ball only where tight end Jesper Horsted could get it.

Fields completed 7-of-10 passes for 54 yards and a touchdown with a 116.3 passer rating.

From Jesper Horsted to Thomas Graham Jr., here are our studs and duds from the Bears’ win over the Titans in the preseason finale.

The Chicago Bears wrapped up the preseason with a 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans, which marked Justin Fields’ final live-game action until he eventually takes over as starting quarterback in his rookie season.

The final preseason game gave roster bubble players one last chance to make an impression ahead of final roster cuts on Tuesday, and there were several players — both on the roster bubble and who have already locked up roster spots — who made themselves known, be it in a positive or negative way.

Here are our studs and duds from the Bears’ win over the Titans in the preseason finale:

Instant analysis of Bears’ 27-24 win vs. Titans in preseason finale

The Bears closed out preseason with a 27-24 win over the Titans, where we saw Justin Fields for the last time until he starts this season.

The Chicago Bears closed out the preseason with a 27-24 win against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.

Usually, the end of the preseason signals excitement for the start of the regular season. And while that’s still the case, it’s hard to deny the excitement that rookie quarterback Justin Fields has brought to the preseason.

While Matt Nagy played it safe through most of the first half, with a plethora of runs and questionable play calls, Fields finally got a chance to show what separates him from anointed starter Andy Dalton near the end of the first half.

Fields put an exclamation point on his preseason with an impressive back-shoulder throw to tight end Jesper Horsted for a 20-yard touchdown during a two-minute drill at the end of the first half.

It was one of those Oh my God throws that Bears fans will be replaying on a loop until he inevitably makes his regular-season debut at some point during his rookie season.

Horsted made a strong case for a roster spot with his impressive performance against the Titans, where he caught three touchdowns, including a one-handed grab in the fourth quarter. Horsted led the Bears with

While the Bears rested most of their starters, there were a few starters on defense who saw some reps in the first half, including nose tackle Eddie Goldman and linebacker Danny Trevathan. Goldman looked like his old self and Trevathan even had an interception of Titans quarterback Matt Barkley in the first quarter.

With takeaways being a point of emphasis for Sean Desai’s defense this year, Chicago’s defense showed up big in the first half with two interceptions — one by Trevathan and one from cornerback Tre Roberson.

Roberson got some help from Trevis Gipson applying pressure on Titans quarterback Logan Woodside. Roberson returned the interception 27 yards for a score. At one point, the Bears defense had more interceptions than Chicago’s offense had first downs.

This final preseason game was exactly what you expect from preseason finales, with the exception of the Fields hype. There were a handful of players pushing for roster spots and starting jobs — some who made positive impressions and others who didn’t help their case. Guess we’ll see as the final cuts loom Tuesday.

WATCH: Bears TE Jesper Horsted hauls in one-handed grab for third TD vs. Titans

Just call it the Jesper Horsted game as the Bears tight end has scored three touchdowns, including this one-handed grab.

Ahead of the Bears’ preseason finale vs. the Titans, head coach Matt Nagy said this final preseason game was where players could make a strong case for roster spots.

Tight end Jesper Horsted did just that, scoring three touchdowns against the Titans, including some impressive grabs.

Horsted’s final touchdown was perhaps his most impressive of the night, where he hauled in a one-handed catch from quarterback Nick Foles and sprinted into the end zone for a 54-yard touchdown to give the Bears a 27-24 lead.

The Bears lead 27-24 in the fourth quarter.

You have to see this beauty of a Justin Fields touchdown pass vs. Titans

It’s special plays like this touchdown pass vs. Titans that showcase why people want to see Justin Fields sooner rather than later.

Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields put an exclamation mark on his preseason with an absolute beauty of a touchdown pass during a two-minute drill at the end of the first half vs. the Titans.

Chicago’s offense had been ineffective for most of the first half until the final drive of the second quarter. The Bears drove 78 yards in six plays to score their first offensive points of the game.

On first-and-10, Fields escaped the pocket and threw a beautiful back shoulder throw to tight end Jesper Horsted for a 20-yard touchdown.

It’s special plays like that which showcase why Bears fans are eager to see Fields on the field sooner rather than later.

Fields finished 7-of-10 for 54 yards and one touchdown for a 116.3 passer rating.

The Bears lead the Titans 14-10 in the third quarter.

WATCH: Bears LB Danny Trevathan, CB Tre Roberson have interceptions vs. Titans

The Bears defense has two interceptions of the Titans in the first half, including plays by LB Danny Trevathan and CB Tre Roberson.

The Chicago Bears offense has been virtually ineffective in the first half. But the Bears defense has recorded two interceptions in the first half, which is one more than the total number of first downs by Chicago’s offense.

When the Titans were driving down the field on their second series, linebacker Danny Trevathan picked off Titans quarterback Matt Barkley on Chicago’s 16-yard line, halting any potential points.

After Tennessee scored a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter, the Bears defense got after quarterback Logan Woodside on the following possession. Outside linebacker Trevis Gipson got pressure on Woodside, forcing an errant pass, which landed in the hands of cornerback Tre Roberson, who returned it 27 yards for a score.

The Titans lead the Bears 10-7 near the end of the second quarter.

Bears Wire podcast: Has Andy Dalton done enough to lose starting QB job?

Has Andy Dalton done enough to keep the starting QB job? We discuss in the latest episode of our Bears Wire podcast.

Bears coach Matt Nagy made it clear from the start that Andy Dalton would be his starting quarterback in Week 1. Whether that was because he wanted to develop Justin Fields from the bench or fulfill a promise made to Dalton back in free agency, we don’t know. But Nagy hasn’t steered from his initial stance.

The one thing that’s become clear through two weeks of preseason and training camp practices is that Fields has done enough to earn the starting quarterback or, at the very least, the opportunity to compete for it.

But the thing that might’ve kept Fields on the bench is how Dalton didn’t do enough to lose the starting job. He certainly didn’t win it either. But Nagy saw enough from Dalton, who has been consistent throughout camp, who has been a leader and someone the team has rallied behind, to be able to stick with him rather than chance things with Fields.

It’s not necessarily the right decision. But Dalton’s consistency this summer did just enough to justify Nagy’s decision — at least, in his own mind — to ride with Dalton into Week 1.

As the Bears conclude the preseason, host Ryan O’Leary (@RyanO_Leary) and myself (@AlyssaBarbieri) are talking all things Bears quarterbacks.
