Preakness 2021 updated odds as race approaches

A look at how the odds have changed.

It’s Preakness Stakes day at Pimlico, with the 2021 edition of the race just hours away.

Although by the time you read this, the odds may change yet again, this updated version of the morning line odds from Tuesday may help you figure out which horses are popular with bettors and which aren’t (although you could just pick based on the best names, which is always fun).

Medina Spirit, the horse trained Bob Baffert that had failed a postrace drug test after its 2021 Kentucky Derby win, is among the favorites at the Preakness.

Here’s a look at the updated odds via Daily Racing Form, along with the post position order.

Let’s help you win some money (based on the horse names).

The 2021 Preakness Stakes is set for this Saturday, and while the focus will no doubt be on Medina Spirit and Bob Baffert, there are other thoroughbreds in the running to win at Pimlico.

Just as we did with the Kentucky Derby, we’re going to help the casual bettors out there and rank the horses by their names based on an unscientific combination of originality, prestige and more. Yes, there will be crossover from the Derby and the field is about half as large.

But whatever! This is important stuff here! We want to help you win money!

Preakness Stakes: 2021 post position draw results and morning line odds

The field is set.

The 2021 Preakness Stakes is Saturday and the two favorites, including one who could challenge for the Triple Crown, will be under heavy scrutiny because of their controversial trainer.

Medina Spirit — the Kentucky Derby winner trained by Bob Baffert who would be stripped of that title if a second drug test comes back positive for betamethasone — is indeed slated to run at Pimlico along with the trainer’s other horse, Concert Tour.

Both Medina Spirit and Concert Tour will be subjected to additional testing and monitoring as a condition of their entry in the race.

As for the rest of the field? The Preakness post position draw took place on Tuesday afternoon, so here’s the official order and opening odds for the 10 horses set to run on Saturday:
