Recruiting for the 2021 class has been rough for Texas but it has a chance to get better this weekend. Four-star outside linebacker Terrence Cooks announced he will be committing on Saturday, Nov. 14. His final choices are Baylor, Georgia, LSU, and Texas.
Coming out of Pearland, Texas, Cooks is the No. 20 outside linebacker in the country according to the 247Sports composite. Nationally, he ranks No. 302 and No. 20 inside the Lone Star state.
The Longhorns lead the way on the crystal ball with six predictions. Lead experts Mike Roach, Gabe Brooks, and Nick Harris have given an average combined confidence level of seven in favor of Texas.
Morice Blackwell is the only other outside linebacker currently committed in the 2021 class. He and Cooks would combine for great potential for linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler.
Cooks has been dealing with an injury during most of his senior season. Last season, he recorded 72 tackles, two of which were for a loss, and forced three fumbles.

Attending Shadow Creek High School, Cooks used to play with current true freshman defensive back Xavion Alford. The two won a 5A-DI state championship in 2019.
