The 2020 NFL Combine has come and gone, leaving only free agency remaining before the 2020 NFL Draft. The Baltimore Ravens, like the rest of the league, will likely begin finetuning their draft boards with all the main measurements figured out. But which players impressed at the 2020 NFL Combine enough to have Baltimore potentially fall in love with them in the first round?

These eight players showed up on the field and could have raised their stock enough to see the Ravens select them with the No. 28 pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

There really wasn’t a consensus top running back in this draft class, meaning the 2020 NFL Combine could be the deciding factor. Taylor apparently understood that and showed up in a big way.

At 5-foot-10 and 226 pounds, Taylor put up the fastest 40-yard dash among the running backs, finishing in just 4.39 seconds. Taylor also posted the fourth-fastest 3-cone drill and sixth-fastest 20-yard shuttle from the running backs. He also put up a respectable 36-inch vertical jump and 123-inch broad jump as well.

Taylor has frequently been mocked to Baltimore in the first round and after his 2020 NFL Combine results, the Ravens could very well be swayed to make him their pick.

We’re into the second day of the 2020 NFL Combine drills, which you can stream live on FuboTV. Today will be the running backs, offensive linemen and special teams players all strutting their stuff on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The first day saw the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends run through the gauntlet. While there was no new fastest 40-yard dash time set with Henry Ruggs III running it in 4.27 seconds, today’s group has some players who could be a threat to the record. John Ross set the current fastest 40-yard dash back in 2017 with a 4.22-second time but keep an eye out for Louisiana running back Raymond Calais and Western Michigan running back LeVante Bellamy as potential record setters.

In today’s group, another standout could very well be Arizona State punter Michael Turk, who put up 25 reps on the bench press yesterday — beating 86 of the 109 total prospects to lift so far. With a shocking display already on record, who knows what Turk will end up doing with the rest of the drills.

The 2020 NFL Combine could also help decide how many running backs end up going in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Many pundits have both Georgia’s D’Andre Swift and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor going in the first round but a bad performance could drop the group down while an impressive showing could have the top back go off the board quickly.

Winners and losers from Day 1 of the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine

The Baltimore Ravens are paying close attention to the results of the 2020 NFL Combine to see which players might rise or fall to them.

The first day of drills happened at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine yesterday. The quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends ran through the gauntlet in front of scouts and general managers in an effort to help their stock in the 2020 NFL Draft.

For some, they exceeded expectations and might have put themselves in a better position come draft day. For others, they failed to impress and could have pushed themselves down teams’ draft boards. So let’s see which players the Ravens could be interested in won and lost on the first day of the 2020 NFL Combine.

Winner: WR Chase Claypool, Notre Dame

As a big-bodied wide receiver with decent hands and good route running, Claypool was a prime target for Baltimore in the second or third round. But Claypool was the winner of the 2020 NFL Combine thanks to outstanding measurements.

At 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, Claypool’s 4.42-second 40-yard dash was blisteringly fast considering his size. His 40.5-inch high jump ranked fourth among wide receivers and shows how explosive he can be in the lower half. Basically, Claypool proved he’s the big, physical receiver he showed on film but also proved he’s got deceptive speed as well.

The fact Claypool’s combine performance is being compared favorably to Clavin Johnson is probably all you actually need to hear.
