Tacko Fall to sit on Friday in the G League with a foot injury

The 7-foot-5 center will not suit up with the Maine Red Claws on Friday night against the Grand Rapids Drive.

Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall is nursing a foot injury and will not play Friday night on assignment in the G League as the Maine Red Claws host the Grand Rapids Drive.

The details of the injury are not known but the 7-foot-5 center was a full participant in practice on Thursday with the Red Claws, according to Chris Grenham of Forbes.com.

Fall recently missed a game on Feb. 27 after having an ingrown toenail removed the day before, though it is unclear if that is the reason why he will not play on Friday.

The Red Claws have not played since Saturday but Fall did appear in that game and recorded 14 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in a win against the Erie BayHawks.

Fall has spent most of the season with the Red Claws. In 27 games played, Fall is averaging 12.8 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.8 blocks. He ranks seventh among qualified players in rebounding and third in blocks.
