Maine Red Claws center Tacko Fall, who is signed to a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics, was named to the 2019-20 NBA G League All-Defensive Team on Friday, the league announced.

The 7-foot-5 product from UCF averaged 12.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocks in 29 games played with the Red Claws. He finished third in blocked shots and sixth in rebounding while his 18 double-doubles ranked eighth among all players.

Fall emerged as one of the top big men in the G League and had several double-digit rebounding performances. He nearly recorded his first career 20-point, 20-rebound outing in February but the official scorer took away a few rebounds after the fact.

Despite a dominant season on defense, Fall fell short of earning the 2019-20 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year as that honor went to Christ Koumadje of the Delaware Blue Coats. Koumadje led the G League in blocked shots and was 10th in defensive rebounding.
