Tacko Fall did not play Thursday in the G League due to an injury

Celtics rookie Tacko Fall sat on Thursday night after having an ingrown toenail removed the day before.

As the Maine Red Claws hosted the Lakeland Magic on Thursday night, the team did so without Tacko Fall as the 7-foot-5 center was dealing with a toe injury.

Fall warmed up prior to the contest but was unable to play after having an ingrown toenail removed on Wednesday, according to Glenn Jordan of the Lewiston Sun Journal. Without Fall, the Red Claws lost to the Magic, 106-103.

The former UCF product turned in one of his best performances of the season on Tuesday.

Fall initially finished with 18 points, a career-high 20 rebounds and five blocks in a win over the Capital City Go-Go but was incorrectly given four rebounds by the game scorer. After a stat correction was made by the G League, Fall ended with 18 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

Fall has shown improvement throughout the season in the G League. He is playing more minutes now with the Red Claws, which is a result of his increased endurance and ability to defend without fouling. He has cut his fouls down for the most part after struggling in that area earlier this year.

Fall is averaging 12.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in 26 games played. He is third in the G League in blocks and seventh in rebounds among all players.

The Red Claws play next on Saturday and Fall could be ready to return.
