Trade with Colts: 31 for 34 and 122
49ers get: Nos. 34 and 122 (610 points)
Colts get: No. 31 (600 points)
This is another trade we looked at early in the process, and it’s another great value move if San Francisco can get the player they’re eyeing at No. 34. The 49ers move down only three spots to snag a fourth-round selection.
They’d also have a Day 2 pick and an early Day 3 choice to work with. A draft where they pick once in each of the first two rounds, once in the fourth, twice in the fifth, once in the sixth, and twice in the seventh. That’s a good amount of draft capital that gives San Francisco some added flexibility to move around the board.
Where this deal becomes very interesting is pairing it with the first trade proposal with the Falcons. Combining those two deals would give the 49ers these picks: 16, 34, 78, 122, 156, 176, 210, 217, 245.
That’s enough to essentially do whatever they want moving up and down the board, and is probably in line with how the club wants to operate.
