Suns eclipsed by strong Celtics fourth quarter as Boston wins 117-107

The Boston Celtics got themselves back on track and in the win column with a 117-107 road victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Both the Celtics and Suns were without a key player in Kristaps Porzingis and Devin Booker, respectively, but it didn’t seem to affect either ball club too much.

The contest remained close throughout the first frame, but saw Boston get some separation early in the second quarter that they maintained for the rest of the contest. The Suns threatened to make a game of it late in each of the final two quarters, but Boston held them off, with six Celtics scoring in double figures.

Big games from Jayson Tatum (29 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists), Jaylen Brown (27 points), and Jrue Holiday (15 points, 6 assists) in particular got Boston the win. Luke Kornet (14 points, 6 boards) and Payton Pritchard (10 points) also had good nights off the bench.

With the victory, Boston improved to 49-14, and now have an 8-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East, and a 5-game lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder for the league’s best record.

The Celtics next play the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, March 11.
