No. 24 Texas keeps its Big 12 title hopes alive with a huge road victory over No. 13 Kansas State.
The Longhorns held on to a second-half lead for a change, recovering a late Adrian Martinez fumble to hold on 34-27.
Bijan Robinson ran wild to pace Texas’ offense. He finished with 209 rushing yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. The Heisman hopeful continues to prove himself as one of the best players in the nation.
Quinn Ewers enjoyed a bounce-back performance in the win. Despite missing a few deep shots, he found Xavier Worthy for two scores in the first half. Most importantly Ewers did not turn the ball over for the Horns.
Texas survived two costly fumbles by forcing two turnovers of their own. Keandre Coburn’s forced fumble on Kansas State’s final drive sealed the deal.
The victory gives Texas control over its own destiny in the Big 12 title race. It also marks the first ranked win of the season for Steve Sarkisian.
