DETROIT — Former University of Tennessee baseball player Christin Stewart is continuing to struggle at the plate for the Detroit Tigers this season.
Stewart, a left fielder for the Tigers, went 0-for-2 Sunday in the Tigers’ 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park.
The former Vol is now batting a paltry .161. He has 10 hits, including two home runs in 2020. He has driven in seven runs and scored four.
Stewart is hitless in his last two games after getting a two-run single in Detroit’s 8-2 victory over the Twins in the first game of a double-header on Saturday.
The Tigers open a two-game series Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
