[autotag]Stewart-Haas Racing[/autotag] has been one of the major stories of NASCAR silly season for a few reasons. One is the retirement of Kevin Harvick at the conclusion of the 2023 season and the other relates to the possibility of Aric Almirola stepping away as well. As of now, Stewart-Haas Racing has publicly announced that two drivers will be on the team next year.
JR Motorsports driver Josh Berry will replace Harvick in the No. 4 car while Chase Briscoe returns to the No. 14 car on a multi-year deal. Meanwhile, Almirola still has a “very high chance” of retiring at the end of the 2023 season. This puts the organization in a spot where it might need to find a replacement driver for the No. 10 car. Well, that might not be the only outcome.
According to Catchfence’s Lee Spencer on PRN, Stewart-Haas Racing could potentially make two of its four charters available for purchase before the 2024 NASCAR season. This would be a massive move for the organization as charters are reportedly around $40-50 million right now.
As stated above, Stewart-Haas Racing only has two drivers confirmed for the 2024 season at this point. With Berry needing sponsorship for the No. 4 car and the primary sponsor of the No. 10 car possibly on the way out, downsizing wouldn’t be a terrible idea. The only problem would be finding takers for such a high asking price in this scenario.
