[autotag]Stewart-Haas Racing[/autotag] remains at the center of NASCAR silly season despite the announcement that Josh Berry would replace Kevin Harvick in the No. 4 car during the 2024 season. This is due to Aric Almirola’s expected retirement alongside Harvick after the checkered flags wave at Phoenix Raceway in November.
Also, the organization has been rumored to possibly sell two of its four charters as it continues to work on its driver and sponsorship lineup for next season. However, those rumors may have been pushed to the curb. During The Athletic’s motorsports podcast, The Teardown, Jordan Bianchi talked about the situation involving Stewart-Haas Racing.
“Stewart-Haas Racing issued a statement to me,” Bianchi said. “They are committed to having four charters next year and fielding four teams. There is no truth to the rumors or speculations about them selling charters and reducing down from four (NASCAR Cup Series) teams.”
If this comes to fruition and Stewart-Haas Racing won’t be selling any of its charters, the next question is the status of the No. 10 car for 2024. Almirola’s retirement would create an opening alongside Berry, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Preece. The market may not be as strong as it once was for the organization; however, the No. 10 car would represent the best opening in the Cup Series.
