Stevens: Williams has ‘a little swelling’, thinks it’s ‘day-to-day’

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said that Robert Williams has a little swelling on his upper calf but thinks that the big man is just day-to-day.

The Boston Celtics will be without big man Robert Williams in tonight’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers due to right knee soreness as Williams popped up on the injury report this afternoon prior to be officially listed out.

Head coach Brad Stevens spoke to the media prior to tonight’s game and gave an update on the injury, stating that Williams had “a little swelling up around the upper calf behind his knee.

“We’re going to look at him again when we get back to Boston,” Stevens said. “They don’t think it’s anything more than day-to-day but gonna make sure.”

Williams was first listed on the injury report as questionable this afternoon before being downgraded to out due to the knee soreness.

In 47 games this season, Williams is averaging 8.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.
