To say it was a successful signing day for Texas would be an understatement. Steve Sarkisian and his staff ended national signing day with the No. 3 overall class for the 2024 cycle, and they might not be done yet.
Texas signed wide receivers Ryan Wingo, Freddie Dubose, Parker Livingstone, and transfer Matthew Golden on Wednesday. One more might be in sight for Sarkisian.
Texas A&M star receiver Evan Stewart entered the transfer portal on Tuesday and could be a target for Texas. He and Texas freshman Johntay Cook share the same trainer and are seemingly close, with Cook even predicting that Stewart would enter the portal.
Stewart had 1,163 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his two years at Texas A&M and didn’t even play a full season this year. The Aggie transfer could be a massive addition to the wide receiver room if Texas were to pursue him.
Texas will have a very strong receiver room in 2024 even if they don’t add Stewart, but more firepower can never hurt.
Sarkisian says the class “may not be done yet” at the wide receiver position.
