Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian provided an update on the quarterback situation and touched on the running back injuries ahead of the Kansas game.
Casey Thompson will start against Kansas but Sarkisian said Hudson Card will also receive early playing time. Thomspon was benched after a poor start last week on the road at Iowa State. Card did not play much better, turning this week into an open battle.
Texas received some good news on the injury front. Linebacker Demarvion Overshown will start. Running backs Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson are labeled as game-time decisions but are expected to play.
Keilan Robinson will not be available tonight as the speedy running back and special teamer is in COVID-19 protocol. Robinson is the first Longhorn this season to miss a game due to COVID-19.
Look for freshman running back Johnathan Brooks to get more action tonight. Sarkisian spoke highly of Brooks earlier this week.
Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian said RB Jonathon Brooks is a player who has earned a playing opportunity and wants to see what he looks like carrying the ball
