Steve Kerr and Team USA will leave the 2023 edition of the FIBA World Cup without a medal or a spot on the podium.
After being eliminated from gold medal contention by Germany, Team USA played the bronze medal game against Canada on Sunday morning in the Philippines.
Surrounded by a stacked Canadian roster, Houston Rockets guard Dillon Brooks torched Team USA for 39 points on 12-of-18 shooting from the field. He added a red-hot seven made 3s.
Tournament star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting to go along with 12 assists and six rebounds.
Anthony Edwards led Team USA with 24 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field. Austin Reaves tacked on 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field with five made 3s. Yet, it wasn’t enough as Canada secured the bronze medal with a 127-118 win in Manila.
