Stephen A. Smith’s stipulations for Kyrie Irving’s next contract

With talks between the Nets and Kyrie Irving, Stephen A. Smith had some stipulations for Kyrie’s contract.

Following the report that Kyrie Irving is likely to sign back with the Brooklyn Nets, sports personality Stephen A. Smith decided to weigh in on the potential stipulations of his deal.

Throughout the last few weeks there has been uncertainty surrounding Irving and his return to the team, but finally it seems like both sides are nearing an agreement.

Smith, who’s quite critical of Irving, claimed that the ball handling point guard should get his money. Smith said, “he deserves it, he’s box office!”

However, Smith has some concerns with the hypothetical contract, saying that the Nets should pay Irving, “one season at a time, because giving Kyrie Irving is pure outright insanity.”

“The definition of insanity is making a long-term commitment to Kyrie Irving. Because that man comes up with new ways to not be on the court over and over and over again. He don’t want to work,” said Smith.
