Steph Curry (illness) practices, expected to play vs. Knicks on Tuesday

After missing the Warriors’ contest against the Hornets, Steve Kerr is anticipating Steph Curry will play against the Knicks on Tuesday.

Despite going through warm-ups on the court, Steph Curry was a late scratch for the Golden State Warriors contest with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. While his absence wasn’t connected to the NBA’s health and safety protocol, Curry missed his first game of the season due to not feeling well.

After missing a devastating loss to Charlotte on a Terry Rozier game-winning buzzer-beater, Curry could be back on the court for the next stage of Golden State’s four-game road swing.

On Monday, Steve Kerr told reporters he’s anticipating the 2021 All-Star starting point guard will play against the New York Knicks on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

He’s feeling better today. He went through practice, participated fully. We anticipate he will play tomorrow.

Curry has had success in the Big Apple in the past. In 2013, Curry exploded at Madison Square Garden for 54 points on 18-of-28 shooting from the field. Through the first 30 games of the 2020-21 season, Curry is averaging 29.9 points on 48.3% shooting from the field and 43.3% from beyond the arc.

Riding a two-game losing streak, the Warriors will need to count on the return of Curry in New York for a chance to get back into the win column.
