As we wait for baseball and basketball to return to action, Stephen Curry has turned his attention to a new competition. The two-time Most Valuable Player hosted the first edition of the UHC: Ultimate Home Championship on YouTube.
All the proceeds earned during the competition will be donated to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization. YouTube is pledging $2 for every $1 donated up to $5 million.
Curry served as host and commissioner while eight professional influencers competed to find the world’s greatest at-home athlete. The UHC had a star-studded cast of competitors that included professional wrestler Ronda Rousey, Denver Broncos edge rusher Von Miller, Olympic ski racer Linsey Vonn, Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan and boxer Ryan Garcia.
ESPN’s Katie Nolan, professional gamer Ninja and Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim joined Curry in the booth as commentators for the event.
