For the first time in five years, Stephen Curry will not be suiting up for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. However, the two-time Most Valuable Player will have his fair share of former teammates to cheer on in the league’s championship series.
Following Javale McGee and Quinn Cook booking their spots in the NBA Finals with the Los Angeles Lakers, another ex-Dub secured a marker with the Eastern Conference Champions. With the Miami Heat’s victory in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Boston Celtics, Andre Iguodala moved on to the title round of the postseason with the Miami Heat.
After Iguodala and the Heat were presented with the Eastern Conference Championship trophy, Curry congratulated his former teammate on Instagram. The Warriors point guard posted an imaged on his Instagram story with the caption “My brother! Congrats.”

Iguodala capped off the Eastern Conference Finals with his 2020 playoff highs in points and minutes. In 28 minutes off the bench, the 2015 Finals MVP tallied 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field with four 3-pointers. The veteran forward added three rebounds and two steals against the Celtics in game six.
Iguodala will lace up against LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers for game one of the NBA Finals on Wednesday at 6 P.M. PT.
