Steelers sign WR Cody White to practice squad

The Steelers bolstered their practice squad depth at wide receiver on Thursday.

Per the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver Cody White was signed to their practice squad on Thursday. The team brought him in for a visit on Tuesday and must’ve liked what transpired.

We all know that Big Ben loves him some big receivers, and White fits the bill. The Kansas City Chiefs initially signed the 6-3 Michigan State product as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL draft. White also spent time on the offseason rosters of the New York Giants and was most recently with the Denver Broncos.

White has football in his blood. His father, Sheldon White, was a cornerback for the New York Giants, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals from 1988 to 1993. As a Lion, the elder White had an interception returned for a touchdown in 1991, which was — believe it or not — the last season Detroit won a postseason game.
