Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett expected to make first start vs. Bills

#Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett expected to make first start vs. #Bills:

The Buffalo Bills will not face their old teammate, Mitch Trubisky, in Week 5 when the Pittsburgh Steelers come to town.

Instead, it’ll be a quarterback making his first-career start.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kenny Pickett will get the nod for the Steelers (1-3)

On Sunday, the Steelers lost to the New York Jets. To start the second half, Pittsburgh made a quarterback change, benching Trubisky in favor of the first-round rookie.

Following the game, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin was noncommittal on potentially keeping the change in place.

Evidently, he has made up his mind.

Tomlin and the Steelers have not yet made the change official. As of now, it’s just a report.

However, insiders such as Rapoport and so tight-knit with front offices that their reports are essentially news from the team itself.

Expect Pickett to lead Pittsburgh into Buffalo (3-1) on Sunday.

Against the New York Jets, Pickett had three interceptions. Despite that, Steelers Wire notes that none were the QBs fault, including an end of game Hail Mary attempt.

Pickett notched two rushing touchdowns in the contest as well.
