It looks like the Steelers are doing a near-complete makeover of their special teams. The team is keeping kicker Chris Boswell but it’s already reported the Steelers released veteran long snapper Kam Canaday and now ESPN reporter is saying the team has also released veteran punter Jordan Berry.

Berry was an undrafted free agent back in 2014 and signed with the Steelers in 2015. Berry has 385 career punts with Pittsburgh during his tenure with a 44.4 yards per punt average.

The release opens the door for rookie punter Pressley Harvin III to take over the job. Pittsburgh drafted Harvin out of Georgia Tech in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL draft. Harvin has a huge leg and showed excellent control during the preseason. He and Barry battled it out until the last possible day but the Steelers have made their choice about their punter of the future.
