Steelers RB Najee Harris not ready to praise teammate Jaylen Warren

There is certainly some tension coming from Najee Harris about the Steelers running back situation.

Well, that was awkward.

After the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Buffalo Bills 27-15 in Week Two of the preseason, starting running back Najee Harris spoke to the media. Mark Kaboly asked Harris to describe fellow running back Jaylen Warren which turned out to be a rather probing question based on how Harris replied as opposed to what he said.

Harris fumbled over his words and could only muster up “efficient” and then noted he wasn’t sure how to answer. He then went into a lengthy diatribe about the importance of the wide receivers in their run blocking.

This is telling from Harris’ standpoint. Clearly, he isn’t happy with the running back situation in the league and on his own team. But not being able to acknowledge the success his teammate is having just because they play the same position could turn into a problem down the road.

Harris had six yards on two carries Saturday and Warren had 62 yards and a touchdown on his only carry.
