Steelers RB Jaylen Warren named a Secret Superstar of Week 2 of preseason

Jaylen Warren got a 62-yard TD run in the Steelers preseason win over the Bills.

Our friends over at Touchdown Wire have put out their Week 2 Secret Superstars in the NFL and two of the Pittsburgh Steelers made the cut. In addition to EDGE Nick Herbig, running back Jaylen Warren also made TD Wire’s list.

Warren only had one carry on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills but he made the most of it as he burst to the outside and thanks to a great block by wide receiver Diontae Johnson, turned it into a 62-yard touchdown run on the first drive.

Here’s what TD Wire had to say about Warren’s performance:

Against the Bills on Saturday, Warren continued to impress with this 62-yard touchdown run against Buffalo’s starting defense. The bounce and acceleration shown here typify why some Steelers enthusiasts are a bit miffed about Warren’s workload in Matt Canada’s offense. Not that it was the biggest problem with Matt Canada’s offense in 2022, but the angst is real.

Warren made it obvious last season he’s deserving of more snaps and this offseason his production has a great number of pundits wondering if Warren should be the lead back in the offense. We aren’t quite ready to go that far but we are certainly excited to see more of Warren this season.
