The 2020 NFL season was forgettable for the Pittsburgh Steelers was forgettable on many levels. One of the worst and most surprising was just how poorly Ben Roethlisberger played. We all watched the games but if you want some perspective on just how bad things were, the NFL Network put out their quarterback index and Roethlisberger checks in as the No. 20 quarterback from last season.

But this isn’t the worst part. Among AFC North quarterbacks, Roethlisberger ranked dead last. The Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson was No. 7, Cleveland Browns Baker Mayfield was No. 11 and even Cincinnati Bengals rookie Joe Burrow ranked higher, checking in at No. 18.

This just adds to the case that the Steelers must address quarterback this offseason. Roethlisberger hasn’t officially announced if he’s planning to return after the retirement of center of Maurkice Pouncey but at this point even if Big Ben does come back for 2021, the Steelers must do more than Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins as their future plans.
