It’s never too early to talk about the 2023 NFL draft.

If you cover the NFL draft, you know as soon as one ends, you start thinking about the next one. CBS Sports draft analyst Chris Trapasso has a new one-round mock draft out for 2023 and while we know it is way too far out, this is a great tool for not only getting a very early look at who the top prospects could be but gauging the expert opinions of what they view at the top need for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Trapasso has the Steelers taking Northwestern offensive tackle Pete Skoronski. I won’t pretend to know anything about Skoronski but as Trapasso pointed out, he’s played well replacing former first-round pick Rashawn Slater at Northwestern.

Instead of debating the player, what about the position? No doubt this season is crucial for Chuks Okorafor at right tackle. He’s found a way to hold onto his starting spot mainly due to a lack of options. But if adding a talented rookie to pair up with Dan Moore Jr. helps this group, I’m all for it.

What other positions would you view right now as a weakness for next season? Cornerback is a spot to keep an eye on as well as safety. Defensive line as well with many unproved guys on the roster.
