Over the course of the last three weeks, the Pittsburgh Steelers have failed to rush for 50 yards in any of those games. In the final analysis, it hasn’t mattered as the Steelers have won all three of those games.

Nevertheless, any thinking person recognizes you cannot sustain the type of offense Pittsburgh has won with over the last three weeks. This is certainly true of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin who addressed the problem in his Tuesday press conference and vowed it was something Pittsburgh is going to work on.

We’ve already talked about how the Steelers can fix the run game. Finding a newfound commitment to a balanced offense is a must as the team heads into December when the weather can have a significant negative impact on even the best passing game.

Running back James Conner topped 100 yards rushing three times in the first five games with Benny Snell getting a 100-yard performance in one of those games where Conner did not. How does a team go from having a 100-yard rusher in four of five games to being unable to rush for 50 yards as a team for three games in a row?

What do you think has been the biggest problem with the run game in recent weeks? And do you agree with Tomlin that it must be improved or are you of the mind that as long as the team is winning it doesn’t matter? Let us know in the comments.
