Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Bears QB Justin Fields

Justin Fields could be the answer at quarterback for the Steelers.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers reconvene for training camp, there could be two new quarterbacks on the roster. The Steelers will have former first-round pick Kenny Pickett but could see two new faces competing for the starting job.

For many fans, the player they want to see is Justin Fields. By all accounts, Fields is available for trade from the Chicago Bears if the price is right.

According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Fields, a nugget he shared on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Tomlin met with Fields at the Ohio State pro day back in 2021. There were plenty of fans who wanted Pittsburgh to draft Fields if he fell to them in the first round, but the Bears got him at No. 11 and the Steelers ended up drafting Alabama running back Najee Harris.

Pittsburgh brought in new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith this offseason to upgrade the offense, and it’s hard to argue that Fields isn’t an ideal fit for what Smith likes to do.
