Steelers HC Mike Tomlin downplays injury to Kevin Dotson

Kevin Dotson cannot afford to miss any time.

On Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers guard Kevin Dotson suffered a shoulder injury. Dotson had his shoulder wrapped after practice. The injury looked bad after practice but head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t even address it after practice.

He did mention it on Wednesday and said there was nothing to be concerned about and Dotson returned to practice.

Dotson cannot afford to miss any time. He’s lost his starting job to free-agent addition Isaac Seumalo and is now battling newcomer Nick Herbig to be the backup. Dotson started all 17 games last season and while he didn’t play poorly, it wasn’t enough for him to keep his job. Now Dotson needs every plus rep he can get in the preseason to try and secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
