Steelers announce huge surprise inactive vs. Browns

The Browns will not have to face George Pickens today

As the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers get set for battle, we will not get a rematch between wide receiver George Pickens and cornerback Greg Newsome II.

The Browns will not be the only team shorthanded at the wide receiver position.

While Newsome and Pickens spent the whole week trash-talking after they got into a post-game scrap just two weeks ago, they’ll have to take their beef to social media. Entering the game questionable with a groin injury, Pickens has been announced as a surprise inactive in this game.

The Steelers will now have to rely heavily on the aging Mike Williams and Cordarrelle Patterson, along with the likes of Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson to get the job done and avoid the season sweep at the hands of the Browns.

For Cleveland’s secondary, their job just got a whole lot easier, but there is still work to do. Can the Browns rally, despite just a three-win season, and play spoilers today against their arch-rivals, the George Pickens-less Pittsburgh Steelers?
