Steelers 2020 NFL draft preview: Offensive line

Here’s our look at the offensive line ahead of the 2020 NFL draft.

With just days to go until the 2020 NFL draft, we are going to go through all of the Steelers positional units to review the current state of the roster, gauge draft needs and talk about some approaches to addressing the need.

This time we take a look at the offensive line.

Roster

Just two seasons ago, the Steelers offensive line was considered one of the absolute best in the entire NFL. The group remains largely unchanged at this point but the level of play has taken a nosedive as this group has aged. As of right now, the starters are Alejandro Villanueva, Stefen Wisniewski, Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Matt Feiler. Wisniewski is replacing Ramon Foster who announced his retirement earlier this offseason.

As far as backups go, center J.C. Hassenauer and tackles Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner are the best of the bunch. There are a handful of other bodies on the roster but this group doesn’t inspire
