Grace Grocholski, a two-time WIAA state champion from Kettle Moraine announced Thursday that she is decommitting from West Virginia. She was set to join the program in 2023.
The four-star recruit averaged 24.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists during the 2022-2023 campaign. Her team defeated Brookfield East in the Division 1 championship.
It’s unclear whether the women’s team will pursue Grocholsk, but given the loss of Julie Pospisilova, coach Marisa Moseley will certainly be looking to replace the senior’s 14.1 ppg from this season.
The Wisconsin women produced six Big Ten victories this year, their most conference wins since the 2011 season.
It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to reopen my recruitment due to the departure of Coach Dawn from West Virginia. I am eager to find a new home to continue my basketball career and I looking forward to the opportunity of competing at a high level. pic.twitter.com/5JwDoZMxkf
