World Cup qualifying continues for the two Concacaf nations

El Salvador continues 2026 World Cup qualifying with a match against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday afternoon.

Los Cuscatlecos opened up qualifying with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Puerto Rico on Thursday, failing to earn their first win in two years.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines, meanwhile, fell 4-1 at Suriname to kick off their qualifying campaign.

The two countries have been drawn into Group F of the second round of Concacaf qualification, with the top two teams in the five-nation group advancing to the final round of qualifiers.

With the USA, Mexico and Canada automatically qualifying as hosts, there is opportunity for up to five more Concacaf teams to join them. Three Concacaf teams will qualify for the 48-team tournament automatically, with two inter-confederation playoff slots also available.
