LHP Kyle Freeland is the projected starting pitcher for the Rockies. He is 1-2 with a 6.54 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, 7.4 K/9 and 3.7 BB/9 in 31 2/3 IP over seven starts.
Freeland suffered a right hamstring injury Monday while running the bases against the Pirates but is expected to be fine to start. He won that outing allowing just 3 hits with a walk and 7 strikeouts across 5 scoreless innings.

The ROCKIES (-115) may be slight favorites but they’re still the play in this one against the Cardinals. I like Freeland a little bit better than the journeyman LeBlanc – especially at Coors Field – assuming he doesn’t have any sort of a setback with his hamstring.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
The ROCKIES +1.5 (-160) won’t cost you that much if you’re just not feeling them at home to win straight up or you want a little bit of insurance in case Freeland’s hamstring flares up.
Over/Under (O/U)
The OVER 12.5 (-105) is a big number but a matchup between LeBlanc and Freeland should mean a decent amount of runs at Coors.
After scouring the alternate lines I also like OVER 10.5 (-190) as you chop off two runs off the total and it still won’t quite cost you two times your potential return. It’s an attractive alternate play.
