Spider-Man doesn’t have story missions in Marvel’s Avengers

With great power comes no cutscenes.

There are no story missions for Spider-Man in Marvel’s AvengersIGN  reported Monday.

Unlike  Black Panther: War for Wakanda  and several other expansions for Marvel’s Avengers, there are no grandiose in-engine cutscenes for the Spider-Man: With Great Power  DLC. Instead, the storyline comes by way of audio logs and artwork — sort of like a comic. Philippe Therien, gameplay director at Crystal Dynamics, told IGN  why spidey isn’t getting any big cutscenes like the other expansions for Marvel’s Avengers.

“Really that’s a simple decision for us. Spider-Man can play all the content, but then we release a piece of content that’s good on all platforms,” Therien said  via IGN. “Really, that was a decision that’s been that way since the beginning.”

Crystal Dynamics calls Spider-Man: With Great Power  a Hero Event  instead of an Operation since there are no actual cutscenes. The wall-crawler will be playable during past missions, though.

Marvel’s Avengers can’t seem to catch a break. The game  caught a lot of flak for its now-removed paid boosts  and  Square Enix’s president called it a disappointment
