Spencer Dinwiddie reacts to Nets hiring Steve Nash as head coach

The Nets now have a third star in Brooklyn, but it’s not one someone most would have expected.

Steve Nash may not have any experience at the NBA level as an assistant or head coach, but he’s certainly a name that garners attention.

Some might even say Nash is Brooklyn’s third star, like Spencer Dinwiddie who may have been the first to joke about the idea on Twitter after the Nets’ announcement on Thursday.

After “having a little fun,” the Nets guard gave his actual take on his team hiring Nash as the 23rd head coach in franchise history, standing by an opinion he expressed about one of his teammates early on in 2019-20:

Just to expand upon this since I was having a little fun. I love the Steve Nash hire. So much of coaching at this level is being a psychologist[.]

I think Caris [LeVert] is the third star so that’d mean 4 rockstars in the building[.]

Further roster construction will be interesting.
