Spencer Dinwiddie hits game-winning shot to push Nets past Pacers

Spencer Dinwiddie played hero for the Brooklyn on Monday, helping the Nets get past the Indiana Pacers with a big-time shot late.

The Indiana Pacers had already knocked off the Brooklyn Nets twice in 2019-20 heading into Monday’s matchup. They were on the verge of a third win, which would have secured the season series, but Spencer Dinwiddie had other plans.

In the final 10 seconds of the game, the Nets had the ball side out with the Pacers up 105-104. Caris LeVert fed Dinwiddie along the perimeter. The Nets point guard then took on Indiana’s Malcolm Brogdon. Dinwiddie hit his opponent with a step-back jumper from just inside the 3-point arc and drained the game-winning shot, leaving the Pacers trailing by one point with only 3.8 seconds on the clock.

Indiana tried to respond, but the Nets ended their brief road trip with a 106-105 win.

Dinwiddie scored 13 of his 21 points at the free-throw line, making all but two of his attempts at the line. The point guard didn’t have as much success from the floor, finishing 4-for-15 from the floor (0-for-7 from deep).

Dinwiddie also had 11 assists and six rebounds.

DeAndre Jordan was an animal on the glass. He grabbed 19 rebounds throughout his 11-point performance.

Joe Harris and Taurean Prince went a combined 7-for-15 from 3-point territory, scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Jarrett Allen (13), Garrett Temple (11), Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (11) and LeVert (11) all finished in double-figures, as well. Allen also had eight boards.
