The idea of the Brooklyn Nets adding a third star didn’t have any traction until Thursday when a report of the team discussing ways to acquire Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards surfaced.
Of course, if the Nets were to make a move, they’d need to send something significant to Washington. The obvious reason being Beal is an All-Star, coupled with the need to match salaries (Beal is set to make $28.75 million next season). Furthermore, the Wizards have shown they want to keep Beal around, signing the guard to a two-year extension in October.
Even before the report from Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Spencer Dinwiddie had all been mentioned as possible pieces by those trying to conjure up possible trades for Brooklyn.
Perhaps Dinwiddie was aware of the speculation when he tweeted out the gif below in response to the Beal report:

And when one fan responded to Dinwiddie by saying Nets general manager would tell him to get out of Brooklyn, the point guard showed how he’d feel about leaving. Needless to say, this response wasn’t based in humor like his initial reaction to the news:
Sixers will take you tho! Never seen you miss at that arena 😂 pic.twitter.com/lrQmxW2sdb
