After a strong showing at the NBA G League Winter Showcase over the weekend in Las Vegas, Wisconsin Herd forward Rayjon Tucker appears to be close to signing with an NBA team.
The rookie from Arkansas Little-Rock has emerged as perhaps the top unsigned player in the G League this season after averaging 23.8 points in 16 games played. Tucker is fourth in scoring and has recorded at least 30 points in four consecutive games, including a season-high 36 points on Dec. 14 against the Canton Charge.
As speculated by John Hollinger of The Athletic, Tucker did not play with the Herd on Sunday as a healthy scratch, fueling the fire that he may be close to signing with an NBA team. Despite playing for the Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate, Tucker is free to sign with any team.
Tucker has proven to be a versatile offensive option for the Herd. He is shooting 38.6% from 3-point range and is also capable of scoring from virtually all over the court, which certainly could intrigue a team to sign him to a contract.
Following the Winter Showcase in Las Vegas, G League teams are off until Friday so Tucker may have very well played his final game with the Herd.
