Michigan State football’s latest hire of James Adams has received high praise when it comes to recruiting.
Allen Trieu — who is a midwest recruiting insider for 247Sports — stated the hire of Adams by Michigan State has been well-received. Trieu took to X shortly after the hire was announced on Monday, and stated his contacts think Adams is a future head coach, and that he is a “slam dunk.”

“Hearing really good reviews as a recruiter among my high school contacts. One called him a ‘slam dunk’ and a ‘future head coach.'”
Adams will serve as the Spartans’ safeties coach.
Adams spent the last three seasons as the safeties coach, and most recently associate head coach, at Wake Forest. Prior to Wake Forest, he spent time at Purdue, Navy, Western Michigan and Charlotte as both a safety and cornerbacks coach.
