Texas A&M baseball will enter the 2024 season as one of the most talented teams in the nation and will lean on Jace LaViolette to take them to the promised land. That burden is well deserved as Jace closed out his first year with the freshman home run record and one of the most feared hitters in the SEC.
An intriguing MLB prospect with size and power, he has been on several top preseason All-American teams. D1Baseball has him on their All-American first team and invited him to The Schoch Factor Podcast to talk about his experience at Texas A&M.
One of the interview’s highlights was when LaViolette explained how a trip to Coach Jim Schlossnagle’s office helped change his outlook on the season after a rough start.
“I sat down with a coach.. he took me up to his office and he told me one thing and it was if you live in the future, it causes anxiety and you live in the past, it cause depression, so live in it, live in the present and whenever he said that I was like dude like I know you’re not supposed to be like a motivational speaker or anything but this kind of resonates really like deep what I’m going through.”
This was an awesome interview with a ton of great insight about Jace and the Aggie baseball program. Stephen with D1Baseball did a great job keeping the conversation going, and it was well worth listening to the entire interview.
We are quickly approaching opening day and the Aggies are ready to welcome McNeese State to Olsen Field on February 16th.
