Last Saturday felt like something out of a fever dream. I couldn’t comprehend that Oklahoma had 14 just points in the fourth quarter. Even more out of wack was that their opponent was the Houston Cougars. A program that hasn’t been synonymous with elite defense. Well, not on the football field. Basketball is a different dynamic.
When the clock hit zero, and Oklahoma had sealed its 16–12 victory, I sat there looking at the TV, just befuddled.
This week against Tulane feels like it could steady the Oklahoma ship that is navigating some very choppy waters.
A comfortable win or even a win where the offense looks competent would go a long way in dousing some of the flames surrounding the program’s performance to date.
I’m still a believer in this team, even with the injuries and even though the execution hasn’t been there yet. Against a tough Tulane team who gave Kansas State a fight and with a veteran defensive line, things are going to need to be much better than they have been upfront for this Sooners offense.
I think Oklahoma wins by 13. [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] tosses three touchdowns, [autotag]Jovantae Barnes[/autotag] scores on the ground and we see two turnovers from the Sooners defense. Most notably, Billy Bowman gets his first interception of the season. R Mason Thomas has a sack, and the Sooners begin to prepare for the Tennessee Volunteers and their first-ever SEC matchup.
Oklahoma 34, Tulane 21
