Social media’s reactions to Florida’s road loss to Tennessee

Social media reacts to the Florida Gators’ 38 -33 loss to the No. 11 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

The Florida Gators lost to the Tennessee Volunteers for the first time since 2016 and only the second time in their last 18 meetings. The 38-33 scoreline saw [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] throw for a career-high 453 yards and throw for two touchdowns, the first two passing touchdowns for the Gators this season.

The game started out slow, with both teams combining for three points in the fourth quarter. After that, the scoring erupted. Tennessee’s uptempo offense lived up to its reputation. Florida’s offense changed the narrative on its passing offense.

Defensively, the secondary struggled mightily. Josh Heupel’s offense asks a lot of a team’s secondary, and it was clear the Gators lacked the depth necessary to defend such a fast and overpowering offensive system.

A late-game rally gave Florida fans hope, but Anthony Richardson’s Hail Mary attempt was intercepted at the end of the game to seal the victory for the Volunteers.
