Social media reacts to Oklahoma’s 8-1 win over Texas in series opener

Oklahoma trailed 1-0 after the first batter, but it was all Sooners the rest of the way. Here’s how social media reacted to the 8-1 win over Texas.

The Oklahoma Sooners made another statement on Friday night in their 8-1 win over the Texas Longhorns.

After Jordy Bahl gave up the leadoff home run, she buckled down. Although she battled some control issues, she threw a tough outing, with 108 pitches, six strikeouts, and just two hits allowed in the complete game win.

Jayda Coleman’s first at-bat was critical. She took advantage of a misplayed ball in left field and used some aggressive base running to end up at third base. Tiare Jennings didn’t take long to erase Texas’ one-run lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Jennings then broke the game open in the second with her eighth home run of the season, a three-run bomb.

Jennings was phenomenal to power Oklahoma to the win.

Oklahoma moved to 31-1 on the season, and they’re in the midst of a 23-game winning streak.

The win had Sooner Nation buzzing on Friday night. Here’s a look at some of the best reactions on Twitter.
