Sixers to be without Matisse Thybulle vs. Pistons, out indefinitely

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle is out indefinitely after sustaining an injury.

As the Philadelphia 76ers look to build off their win on Saturday as they head to the Motor City to face the Detroit Pistons, they will have to do so without their rookie defensive stud.

Matisse Thybulle suffered a right knee sprain and a bone bruise in Saturday’s win over the Washington Wizards. The Sixers guard wasn’t the first player off the bench on Saturday as coach Brett Brown went with Furkan Korkmaz in an effort to try and bust the zone, but he was essential in the second half in helping the Sixers pull away.

“You would assume that you are going to be playing against a lot of zone, so we were trying to tap into Furkan’s shot,” said Brown. “I did think that Matisse had a great fourth period.”

Thybulle sustained the injury in that big fourth quarter he had and he is out indefinitely. He will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.

Thybulle finished with nine points, a steal, and a block in 16 minutes on Saturday. Philadelphia will miss his ability to force turnovers and allow them to get out and run. [lawrence-related id=21887,21877,21858]
