Sixers star Joel Embiid to return on Thursday in road matchup vs. Heat

The Philadelphia 76ers will have Joel Embiid return on Thursday against the Miami Heat.

The Philadelphia 76ers head into South Beach to take on the Miami Heat on Thursday with work to do. They still need a win to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and they will have help in doing so.

Not only will the Sixers have Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton return to the floor, but they will also have star big man Joel Embiid return as well. Philadelphia missed their MVP candidate in Tuesday’s loss to the Indiana Pacers and they will need him to be on the floor in order to clinch the top seed.

Coach Doc Rivers did say that the big fella was pretty sick dealing with a non-COVID illness, but he worked out on Wednesday. That allowed him to be ready for this one.

“He was pretty sick,” said Rivers. “He worked out yesterday and didn’t look great, but he got up and down the floor a little bit.”

The Sixers and the Heat tip-off from 7:30 p.m. EDT from American Airlines Arena in Miami.
